Forward Africa
Leaders Symposium
2024

Global Conversations, New York

Moving the conversations forward on Africa's Digital Economy with Leaders at the Forefront.

About FALS 2024

Here's a concise summary of the passage:As Africa recovers from the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing geopolitical challenges, the continent is projected to achieve an average economic growth rate of 4.0% in 2024–2025. Despite this progress, many countries continue to face rising food and energy costs, currency instability, unemployment, and political insecurity.

At the same time, Africa's digital economy is experiencing significant growth, driven by investments in Digital Public Infrastructure and supported by initiatives such as the African Union Digital Transformation Strategy (2020–2030) and the World Bank's Digital Economy for Africa (DE4A) program. These frameworks emphasize the need for stronger digital infrastructure, digital skills, financial inclusion, supportive policies, and a Single Digital Market to accelerate innovation, trade, and sustainable development.

Building on calls from platforms such as the 3i Africa Summit, the Forward Africa Leaders Symposium, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, and investors to strengthen collaboration, promote enabling regulatory frameworks, and advance Africa's integrated digital economy as a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable growth.
